‟Domaine Laroche is involved in a large-scale approach of sustainability that implies an environment-friendly viticulture.

Let us explain further. It all relies on taking the relationship between vine, soil, climate and environment into account. We therefore observe that if plants are well-balanced, we can reduce treatments significantly, as they can naturally fight against pests and diseases.

We have our own specifications relying on a few simple principles: no weed killers, no pesticides, no anti-botrytis treatments. Those must help vine and not disturb their general balance or the ripening of grapes. We experiment natural treatments using nettle and valerian and it looks very efficient.”


From grapes to wine

‟Considering environment for viticulture only has little sense. In the winery, we use the same simple principles: minimal treatments, reduction of power consumption and use of rainfall water.

If you really want to take environment into account in your daily work, you need skilled people. You can’t insist too much on this. They help to build new experiences. We encourage apprenticeship, because it helps to transmit manual work on to new generations.”

Domaine Laroche Chablis Les Chanoines

100% of Chardonnay. It is the place where a monk produced wine in a seller  of the Chablis for the first time. It is quick and performs debourbage at 12-15 degrees by a tank designed in particular for 12 hours and, after all bunches compression, uses transparent fruit juice. I ferment by a stainless steel tank at 16 degrees for 15 days and let you mature with the same draff for six months. It is produced taste of the harmony to feel the flavor of fresh, white fruit and the spring flower.

This Premier Cru is located on a spectacular slope in a widely open valley with abundant sunshine. A beautiful terroir for this excellent, racy Premier Cru. Terroir Montmains climat is located on the left bank of the Serein River.  Clay-based soil and excellent exposure make it an early-ripening site, able to deliver much body and structure in the wine, with generous mouthfeel underneath.  Food pairing This wine has enough personality to be served with spicy dishes or goat cheese.

The old vines of this sunny Premier Cru give intense wines with stone fruit and oriental spice aromas. Terroir Limestone marls and Kimmeridgian limestone soils are paramount in this Premier Cru. Domaine Laroche Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots

The favourite Grand Cru of Domaine Laroche, offering much finesse and charm. Terroir  Les Blanchots is a unique terroir made of a layer of white clay on Kimmeridgian limestone with ammonites. This is the ideal combination to keep the right amount of water for roots. The South-East exposure allows slow ripening and favours aroma development. Blanchots is delicate, silky and shows its charm after 5 years in bottle. At peak after 10 to 12 years.

Domaine Laroche Chablis Grand Cru Les Blanchots La Reserve de L′Obedience

The ultimate version of Grand Cru Les Blanchots. Since 1991, the best cuvée of Domaine Laroche has been blended in the ancient cellars of the Obédiencerie. The magic of a unique blend The grapes are hand-harvested in Grand Cru Les Blanchots of Domaine Laroche and collected in small crates to go to the winery where they are sorted. Then, each parcel is kept apart in order to do the entire winemaking process separately. Blending of the best wines from Grand Cru Les Blanchots takes place at the beginning of the summer every year. Samples are taken from each vat, cask and barrel and are then tasted and selected for their delicacy and silky outlines. The aim is to express in the glass the typicity of the terroir as faithfully as possible. We try to get nearer to the perfect wine if it exists: refined, intense, mineral and capable of maturing for at least twenty years.
