Australian Shiraz has long been considered the workhorse of the Australian wine industry. Its character, well defined by this hard working 'Lackey', of a wine punching well above its weight. Kilikanoon has selected premium parcels of Shiraz fruit from various regions of South Australia to craft a wine of outstanding presence and refinement.
The Lackey emphasizes the ripe, classic, South Australian Shiraz grape aged in old oak and bottled with no fining or filtration. Deep, rich, full-bodied, and elegant, it reveals plenty of berry fruit, chocolate, pepper, and new saddle leather characteristics.
The Lackey, produced by Kilikanoon, a boutique Clare Valley winery with an international reputation for producing regionally expressive, terroir-driven wines.
The name ‘Lackey’ is an affectionate Australian term referring to a hardworking laborer of agreeable character who is generally assigned to menial tasks, yet none-the-less gets the job done without the merest sign of a complaint.
