All the grapes are grown on the Isole e Olena estate’s 49 hectares of vineyards, 5 of which are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyards are situated on the western border of the Chianti Classico zone. 100% barrel aged in French and American oak for 24 months, this is a deep red colored wine. It shows pure berry and cassis fruit flavors on the palate and focused and layered expressions of blackberry fruit, vanilla, and minerals. It is savory in flavor, velvety in texture with firm yet supple tannins and a slight cedary spice on the finish.

The wine’s lush, deep berry and cassis flavors are seamlessly balanced by firm, supple tannins, leading to a long, rich oak-enhanced finish.
Dark and concentrated, it is smooth-textured, supple and harmonious, with subtle layers of currant, spice, herb, anise and light cedary oak, ending with a graceful mix of ripe fruit and fine-grained tannins. It is round and silky with a pleasingly long finish.

Originating from the estate of the Chambaud family in the 18th century, the sole heiress to the estate married Louis Garitey in 1875, who remained owners until Garitey's death in 1914 when the property was divided into three parts. The estate is first mentioned in the 1890 edition of Cocks & Féretwhere it was ranked among the best estates of Pomerol.
One part of the estate acquired in 1917 by Madame Edmond Loubat, she bought additions to the property with the estate named Haut-Canton-Guillot adjacent to Trotanoy and Clos des Grandes-Vignes near Pomerol's church, that together form the present Latour-à-Pomerol property.

This wine carries the name of Stephen’s father, Cyril Henschke (1924-1979), as a tribute to one of Australia’s outstanding winemaking pioneers, renowned for old-vine single-vineyard and quality varietal table wines. Cyril planted cabernet sauvignon at Henschke’s Eden Valley vineyard in the 1960s.
The year 2006 is a memorable year, which is just 60 years since 1956 when the father of Paolo, the current owner purchased the winery, and exactly 30 years from 1976, when Paolo started working seriously at the winery. It is this Gran Serezione that was built to celebrate that milestone. We carefully selected only the best barrels in the barrel of Ceparello and blended some Syrah and Cabernet · Fran. For 4 years aged barrel (2 year Otaru, 2 year barrel), aged for 4 more years in a bottle. While combining the delicacy of Chianti Classico with ease of drinking, it is a wine that feels a condensed feeling like a super Tuscan.
