La Vieille Ferme Rosé

La Vieille Ferme Rosé 2018

This vineyard is at the south-western tip of the Cotes du Rhone, extending out to nearby Villes-sur-Auzon, at the foot of the hills that stretch out to Mont Ventoux and Sault. Aging also takes place in the stainless steel tanks where the wine is clarified before being bottled. The color is a lovely deep pink with a floral fragrance. It also has nuances of aniseed and brown sugar. It is very rich and balanced with flavors of caramel and toffee.

■ Grape Varieties
50% Cinsault, 40% Grenache, 10% Syrah

Miraval Rosé Half

Miraval Rosé Half 2018

The 2018 vintage is a ray of Provencal sunshine, thanks to the region’s particularly generous climate and nature. The rains at the beginning of the season meant the vines were well-prepared and grew healthily in the spring. This is an exacting time during which we need to be constantly in the vineyard, keeping an eye on things, and the work is painstaking and meticulous. The warm and sunny summer we then enjoyed in Provence enabled the grapes to mature perfectly and harvesting conditions were ideal. This 2018 vintage is a rich one indeed, full of fruit and a fine freshness.

SITUATION :

Issued from the Chateaus' best parcels (Muriers, Longue, Romarin), as well as from a selection of vineyards close to the village of Correns, just north of Brignoles in the heart of Provence.
TERROIR :

Clay & Limestone vineyard, partially in terraces located at an average of 350 meters. Cool climate for the area with big temperature swings between night and day.
Destemming:

Pressurage direct for Cinsault, Grenache and Rolle. The Syrah is vinifies partially using the "saignee" method.
Vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats (95%) and in barrels (5%) with batonnage.
TASTING NOTES:
Pretty petal pink colour with shiny undertones. This 2018 vintage instantly reminds of Provence with its beautiful aromas of fresh fruit and spring flowers. Airy and balanced, it delicately combines great freshness and complexity, and develops saline and mineral notes. Its long and intense finish is the signature of a rosé with incomparable elegance.

Hecht & Bannier Saint Chinian

Hecht & Bannier Saint Chinian 2011

The wine expresses a bouquet typical of Iris and bulbous flowers tied with a rich minerality. Mourvedre combined with Grenache offers structure and flesh to the wine, wonderfully complementing the aromatic explosion of Syrah. The leavening of spice and pepper on this blend brings an extra dimension to the berry flavors. Around 30% of the blend was aged in new oak, to impart softness and creaminess in this rich and full-bodied wine.
