Kauri Bay Sauvignon Blanc
New

Kauri Bay Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Estate fruit for this wine comes from the “Maven” vineyard, a single-vineyard near the stony banks of Marlborough’s Wairau River. Carefully controlled leaf picking by block has impacted on the fruit’s flavor and composition of this wine and has lead to ripe, deep tropical flavors.

On the nose wonderfully fragrant aromas of passion fruit and citrus abound. The palate is succulent and fruity showing all the attributes of great Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. There is a fine acidity that can be felt in the wine giving it excellent balance and a clean crisp snap to the finish.

Kumeu River Village Pinot Gris

Kumeu River Village Pinot Gris 2016

The aromas have typical peach and stone fruit notes tinged with the floral perfume that we have come to expect from Pinot Gris. The wine is lively, complex and lingers on the palate. Pinot Gris is a variety that goes particularly well with food, including quite intensely flavoured dishes. It is also one of the few wine styles that can handle the spiciness of chilli.

Mt. Difficulty Wines Pinot Gris

Mt. Difficulty Wines Pinot Gris 2016

The grapes for this wine come from four of this winery’s Bannockburn vineyards; Templars Hill, Long Gully, Bannockburn Bay and Ferris. The fruit was processed in a reductive manner and the wine was fermented cool to help maximize the varietal character. These techniques were also used to help enhance the complexity and textural aspects of the wine. Starting with fruity aromas of peach and nectarine, the palate is full and well textured, showing firm backbone. This creamy and fleshy wine has an impressive tropical finish.

Mt. Difficulty Wines Roaring Meg Pinot Noir

Mt. Difficulty Wines Roaring Meg Pinot Noir 2015

This wine exhibits a lovely mix of red and black berry fruits with further complexity gained from the spiciness of the oak. Tannins rise gracefully out of the mid-palate to finish the wine; these are balanced by the wine’s acidity and fruit, to produce a long fruit driven finish. Roaring Meg is recognised as one of the greatest bargains in premium Otago Pinot Noir

Kumeu River Pinot Gris

Kumeu River Pinot Gris 2016

Certainly a very layered and complex Pinot Gris. The indigenous yeast fermentation took place in tanks over an extended period, in conjunction with a partial malo-lactic fermentation. The 10 grams per litre of residual sugar is hardly noticeable due to the concentration of flavor and the textural richness that this wine displays.

The aromas have typical peach and stone fruit notes tinged with the floral spiciness that we have come to expect from Pinot Gris. On the palate the wine is rich and complex with lovely length of flavor.
